As part of the Great Lakes Council’s initiative to further develop communication with the local communities, the Community Consultative Committee has been advised by director of corporate and community services Steve Embry that the council has scheduled a community forum to be held at Hawks Nest Community Centre on Tuesday, November 20, from 7pm.
This forum is open to the public and the council would like to hear from you on any issues that you would be interested in discussing or obtaining further information.
The forum is designed to update the broader community on council activities and to provide an environment for open discussion on issues of interest or concern in our local communities.
On behalf of the organisations that are members of the Community Consultative Committee the following issues will be submitted for the council’s response.
* Update on Tea Gardens Waterfront Development
* Update on addressing beach erosion at Jimmy’s Beach in Hawks Nest
* North Arm Cove development
* Fame Cove
* Roads and drainage
* Youth facilities
* Land conservation
*Addressing council’s position on global warming.
These issues were brought up in the community forum held in July.
Follow up information is being requested at this forum.
If you wish to have your issues discussed at the community forum, please provide your submission to Sue Bookallil via email sue.bookallil@greatlakes.nsw.gov. au, phone 6591 7295 or by letter to Sue Bookallil, Great Lakes Council, PO BOX 450 Forster, 2428 by close of business on November 13.
The council has advised the Community Consultative Committee that they are looking forward to meeting the members of the community to make these forums a success, and to continue with this initiative.
