THE role of the Myall Riverside Art Walk Committee has been expanded to fulfil the function of a local arts council.
The Myall Coast Arts Network (MCAN) will operate as a subcommittee of the Myall Coast Chamber of Business and Tourism Inc and develop a closer relationship with the Great Lakes Arts Network.
Artists and arts groups operating within the Myall Coast area will be welcome to join MCAN.
MCAN will continue to develop the Myall Riverside Art Walk, but will also assume responsibility of the annual FAME Exhibition and the Painting by the Myall Art Competition.
The chamber has pledged support by providing web space on their new website, www.myallcoast.org.au.
MCAN will be hosting a networking morning tea on Friday, December 5, to recruit members and discuss the formation and function of this new group.
Financial support to enable the group to engage a facilitator for this session will be sought.
Meetings will be held every second month, on the first Friday, at 9.30am at the Myall Community Art and Craft Centre, Myall St, Tea Gardens.
