A 52-year-old man was flown to hospital on Saturday, February 16, after suffering a cardiac arrest.

The man was at Bennett’s Beach in Hawks Nest when the attack occurred.

Tea Gardens Ambulance officers were called and performed CPR on the man before the Westpac rescue helicopter arrived.

The incident occurred around 11am.

The man was taken by helicopter to John Hunter Hospital in a critical condition.

He was later discharged from hospital.
