Cars from many different time periods were exhibited at the sixth annual Motorfest in Hawks Nest last weekend.
A large display of veteran, vintage, classic and unique cars and motorcycles were on show for the hundreds of people who attended the event.
“It’s the best turn up yet,” Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Motor Club public officer Jurgen Seil said.
Around 300 cars were driven to Hawks Nest for the Motorfest from 35 clubs across the State.
Clubs from Tamworth, Coffs Harbour, Port Macquarie, Sydney basin, Central Coast, Newcastle and the Hunter attended the one day show.
Some of the cars highlighted on the day were a 1923 Rolls Royce, a 1947 MGTC, a 1926 Austine A7 and a 1972 beetle restored to new.
Cars were not the only attraction on the day with White Tiger Racing motorbikes also drawing a crowd.
Championship racer Nigel Bryan said they had been coming to the Motorfest for a number of years and had put in a big effort with banners and story boards telling the tale of the Honda bikes and cars.
For some clubs 2008 was the first time they were able to participate in the Motorfest.
One of the clubs was the Mid North Coast sub branch of the Mini Car Club of NSW which had decided to come this year rather than participating in other events.
The Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Motor Club hosts the Motorfest and has attracted more sponsors and clubs to the event each year it is run.
“We have excellent support from the local business community,” Mr Seil said.
This year 95 sponsors were on board to make the day a success.
Attendees had the chance to vote for their favourite car on the day and the winner of the peoples choice award was Rob Monk from Thorton.
Also a major winner in the monster raffle, in which 5000 tickets were sold over the past five months, was Mr Meyn who won a $1200 barbecue.
Great Lakes mayor John Chadban attended the event, officially opening it during the morning.
Proceeds made at the event will this year benefit the Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Surf Lifesaving Club and the Rural Fire Service.
