FORENSIC pathology tests have revealed a bone found washed up on a beach near Hawks Nest last week came from a pelican.
Police said a jogger discovered what appeared to be a human leg bone near the tide mark at Dark Point about 1pm last Wednesday.
The 37cm bone was handed over to officers at the Tea Gardens police station before undergoing tests at John Hunter Hospital.
