Busted: over $150,000 worth of cannabis found

ALMOST four kilos of cannabis was found by police at a house in Stroud on Sunday night.

Police searched the Nicholls St residence, also seizing a hydroponic set up and 28 cannabis plants, with a total street value of over $150,000.

Police said the estimated potential street value of the dried cannabis was $98,000 while value of the plants was $56,000.

A 46-year-old Stroud man was arrested at the home and taken to Raymond Terrace police station where he was charged with possess prohibited drug, possess indictable quantity of prohibited drug, possess prohibited plant and cultivate prohibited plant.

He was refused bail and appeared at Maitland local court on Monday.

Police have reminded the public that anonymous calls to Crime Stoppers can be made if anyone suspects suspicious behaviour in their area.
