Charity cruise gets sick kids smiling

THREE Tea Gardens residents will be cruising for charity next weekend and they are looking for more Commodore owners to join them.

Robbie Vaughan is again organising a group to take part in the Cruise for Charity event which raises funds for the Starlight Children’s Foundation in Australia.

Leaving Tea Gardens early on Saturday, July 26, the group will meet around 300 cars from Newcastle in Beresfield to travel to Sydney for the major event.

Cruise for Charity is in its fifth year and raised almost $113,000 nationwide last year, with 900 Commodores participating in the NSW event.

Mr Vaughan joined a group of seven cars from the area last year but said he hopes a lot more people will join in with their Commodores this year.

After registering at Homebush the cars cruise via Windsor to Blacktown Drive Inn where sausage sizzles, raffles and dinos take place during the afternoon.

The event will be held in capital cities around the country starting in Sydney.

For more information on the event phone Mr Vaughan on 0418 806 839.
