Closure for Bulahdelah Day Care

17 Dec, 2008 09:04 AM
AFTER 30 years Bulahdelah Day Care will close due to dwindling numbers and illness.

A Christmas party was held on Monday, December 15, at the Bulahdelah Bowling Club with friends and past members attending.

“Day care started over 30 years ago with up to 30 people attending each week,” coordinator Jean Lambourne said.

Jean has coordinated the group for the past 12 years.

“When we moved from the hospital facilities to the School of Arts Hall many members dropped out, now we have only about 10 members who attend weekly,” Jean said.

It was decided by members to donate accumulated funds to Bulahdelah Hospital, Great Lakes Nursing Home and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter.

As a result cheques for $600 each were presented to each organisation during the last meeting.
