Breath tests were conducted on 186 people on Thursday, August 2, in Tea Gardens.
Four people were found to have a positive result for alcohol in their system.
One person was found to be in the low range, another person in the middle range and a third person was in the high range.
The fourth person was in the novice range, which covers those drivers on their p-plates.
Senior Constable, Scott Churchill, said this result was a much higher ratio than normal for this time of year, when there are not many parties around.
Residents of the community should expect to see police breath testing in the area more frequently.
The breath testing was part of a statewide operation where police were focusing on people driving under the influence of alcohol.
