A GROUP of intoxicated males were caught by Tea Gardens police for stealing eskies at Hawks Nest Beach Holiday Park, according to police.

Senior Constable David Coyle said he was called to the caravan park at 5am on January 21 by concerned holiday makers.

He said residents in the park had already apprehended two males.

According to Senior constable Coyle, when he arrived on scene he discovered four "seriously intoxicated males" and subsequently searched a van on site where six eskies were allegedly located and returned to their owners.

The 22-year-old male from Llandilo who was staying in the van was dealt with for stolen goods in personal custody. Mr Coyle said he was given an infringement notice of $350.

An 18-year-old male from Tea Gardens was returned to his mother, another 18 year old from Hawks Nest was released and the other male fled the scene.
