YUMMIES 4 Mummies, a free Tea Gardens mother's group which gives parents a chance to "enjoy a cup of tea with two hands instead of one" will resume on February 8.
The group, which is organised by volunteers from St Stephens church takes place fortnightly during the school term from 9am until 11am in the church hall in Witt Street.
The volunteers bring along morning tea for the mothers, organise the toys and books and play with the children.
Group coordinator Rhonda Bobako said the group was established in 2010 as a way of engaging families in the Tea Gardens Hawks Nest and surrounding communities.
"We felt there was a need to set up an initiative where people could connect," Mrs Bobako said.
"There is a lot of young parents in the area who have left their support system, their relatives and their friends."
About 20 parents attend the group, and Mrs Bobako said everyone was welcome including dads and grandparents.
Mrs Bobako said that parents did not have to have a child to walk through the door either with parents whose children have just started school more than welcome to return.
"We will be there for them with a box of tissues," she said.
Anyone interested in coming along is welcome to simply turn up on February 8, and join in the Yummies 4 Mummies community.
