GREAT Lakes Council has taken on board strong community feedback and amended Draft Development Control Plan No. 33 – Stroud District and Heritage so it is more user-friendly.
Clearer figures and illustrations, a glossary of terms and clarification of specific site information for Memorial Dr, Simmsville Rd and Listening Hill sites have been part of the alterations.
The amended plan has also been renamed Draft Development Control Plan No. 56 - Stroud District and Heritage (Draft Plan) to reflect the area the controls apply to.
In conjunction with the re-exhibition of the plan, Council is asking for more community feedback on the option to expand the Heritage Conservation Area (HCA).
Council’s Director of Planning and Environmental Services Glenn Handford said changes to the plan were about allowing the community to make informed decisions.
“Council’s primary focus throughout this project has and will continue to be, the development of a plan which will reflect the community’s vision of future development within Stroud Village and its visual catchment,” Mr Handford said.
“This is best achieved by providing the Stroud community with sufficient opportunities to understand the amended draft plan and to make informed submissions to Council.”
The amended plan will be on public exhibition from Wednesday January 13 to Friday March 5.
Further community consultation and feedback on this document will take place through public information sessions, a public meeting and inviting public submissions.
Information sessions will be held once a week, by appointment only, during the exhibition period and bookings can be made by contacting council on 6591 7224.
A public meeting will be held at the Stroud RSL Hall on Thursday, February 11 at 6pm.
A copy of the plan will be made available on council’s website www.greatlakes.nsw.gov.au and at council’s district office’s in Stroud and Forster from Wednesday, January 13.
