TEA Garden’s Community and Technology Centre members celebrated their fifth birthday on Friday in conjunction with the annual general meeting.
Five years ago with little resources the CTC opened in Tea Gardens.
“It is wonderful how time dulls the memory of hassles and problems. At the time computer networking, satellite broadband and lack of training materials seemed almost insurmountable,” Inaugural manger Trevor Cook said.
Today the committee and volunteers have developed a well maintained centre that has expanded and offers new services each year.
An expansion into shop three this year sees a new training and meeting area and a working place for printing and publishing services.
During the annual general meeting nominations were accepted and members were elected into their positions unopposed.
Members of the committee are president Lyn Reid, vice president Lesley Turner, secretary Shirlie Richardson, treasurer Kay Morrow, committee members John Baker, Sandra Bell, Trevor Cook, Tricia Copp, Shirley Cox, Ray Gilchrist, Kevin Green, Chris McKinnon, Lois McShane, Robert McShane and Roslyn Reynolds.
