Full steam ahead for festival

14 Oct, 2008 03:36 PM
THE Myall River Festival is fast approaching with local groups preparing to participate in the fun.

The program this year includes old favourites such as camel rides, dancing shows, live music and the popular sail past.

Tea Gardens Public School will be running a duck race, supervised by the Surf Lifesaving Club, who will also be performing a river rescue demonstration.

New this year is a performance by Circus POGs entertainer, Ben Bryant, who recently returned from a successful tour of Europe and is currently performing a solo stage show as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival.

Natalie and Jus’ a Ramblin’ will be performing live from midday. There will also be a bungy trampoline, jumping castle, the popular Lions Club barbecue and lots more.

“There are still a few spaces left for stallholders, with many enquiries now coming from outside the area,” event coordinator Shona Hunter Howarth said.

Further information and booking forms are available on the website www.myallriverfestival.com.au, by phoning 4997 2554 or visiting the office on Marine Dve Tea Gardens.

The festival will be held on Saturday, October 25.
