THE Masonic Lodge Port Stephens was recently awarded a certificate of appreciation from the Tea Gardens/Hawks Nest Progress Association in recognition of the outstanding support their members have freely given to local community organisations, including the Progress Association.

Secretary of the local Progress Association, Dawn Engel, believes the support of community groups like The Masonic Lodge is invaluable.

"The way they assist each other in order to offer various services to the community is outstanding.

"If it wasn't for this level of support our community would miss out on a lot of things," she said.

The Progress Association held their Jumble Sale in July and the Masonic Lodge Port Stephens played a major part in ensuring the success of the event by providinG the much-needed tables.

"Once upon a time you could get your tables from the community hall but you can't do this anymore so their volunteered assistance was much appreciated," said Ms Engel.
