A NIGHT of rocky horror raised $1000 towards the development of a Westpac Rescue Helicopter helipad in Tea Gardens.
The Tea Gardens Hawks Nest Lioness Club held a Rocky Horror fundraising dinner dance on Saturday, November 22, at the Tea Gardens Country Club.
Organisers said it was a fantastic evening with lots of dancing and merriment by all.
The fancy dress costumes were taken from characters in the Rocky Horror Show and were outstanding.
The best dressed male was Roger Humphries and the best dressed female Pat Sheldon.
The band Jumpin’ Jukebox provided excellent dance music all evening as well as a fantastic show towards the end.
The people who left early missed a great bit of entertainment.
A raffle and auction, with donated prizes, was run on the night and was well supported by the public, enabling the club to raise $1000 towards the Wespac Rescue Helicopter helipad.
Thank you to Noel Jackson for running the auction, your time is always greatly appreciated, to the country club for providing the band and venue and the staff for their excellent service.
Thank you to the restaurant for the scrumptious meal which was enjoyed by all.
A special thanks to our diligent workers Lyn and Rob Humphries, Sandra Bell, Cheryl Cook and Silvija Vermuyten for their generosity of time and creativity in setting up tables, decorating the club and cleaning up at the end of the night.
Without the input of all these people the night would not have been the success that it was.
