AN image by Tea Gardens photographer, Larry Tofler, has been highly commended by judges in the MidCoast Water digital photography competition.
Mr Tofler's image "Duck" was one of two highly commended by judges - the other was "Drinking Water" by David Whittaker of Forster.
An image of a water drop suspended in time by Taree photographer Michael Brown won the competition.
Images were judged on creativity, technical skill and relevance to the theme.
The competition, run to mark Water Week 2006, attracted a wide range of entries from across the Manning and Great Lakes.
Photographers were asked to take a photo of any aspect of water use, water conservation or water infrastructure in the MidCoast Water area of operation.
Tina Franke's image "The First Drips" was placed second and third place went to Taree's Frith Miller with "Drench".
Mr Hanington congratulated all entrants on their participation in the competition.
"Being aware of water conservation issues and the role water plays in our lives is most important - and it was encouraging to see the strong field of entries in this competition."
Mr Hanington said while this was the first time MidCoast Water had conducted an online digital photographic competition, it was set to become part of the annual Water Week program.
