LOCAL police say that too many times they are being called to licenced premises because of persons refusing to leave.
On August 11, police were called to a local licenced premise to deal with a patron who had previously been barred, and when asked to leave on this occasion the patron refused to do so and allegedly proceeded to make threats against staff. Police say this will not be tolerated.
The offender will be prosecuted for failing to leave a licenced premise, and upon the completion of the investigation a charge of intimidation may also be tendered.
Failing to comply with licencees or his/her representative upon being asked to leave the licenced premises carries a penalty of $550.
Tea Gardens Police say that if you wish to argue the point and make threats of violence towards people then they will deal with you to the full extent of the law.
