AFTER selling an $83,758 winning lottery ticket Myall Quays Newsagency at Tea Gardens has become known as "the lucky newsagency".
Glenn Cookson whose parents Col and Sandra own the newsagency said the woman who claimed the prize did not have a clue that she had in her hand a winning ticket when she came into the shop on Thursday, February 9.
"She came up to the counter, gave Col her tickets and it came through that she had won $83,000," Glenn Cookson said.
Mr Cookson said the lady, who is from the area was "very shocked" and "very happy" when told the news.
Col Cookson said the winning Powerball second division auto pick entry, was in fact her sons but the money would be shared between the two of them.
"They were very deserving people," he said.
According to Mr Cookson the people queued up in the newsagent were all extremely excited and congratulating her.
It is not the first time that Myall Quays Newsagency has made someone's lotto dreams come true, with a $90, 000 ticket sold there about six years ago.
They also sold a $4 scratchy that turned out to be a $5000 winning ticket just before Christmas.
"The customers have been very happy," Sandra Cookson said.
"The next one could be you."
