TEA Gardens building company Lambert Building has won the Master Builders Association award.
The family orientated company was announced the winner of the custom built homes $500,000 to $750,000 category at a gala dinner on Friday, August 15.
For their first time entering, it was a pretty good achievement.
“It’s an adrenalin rush but it’s a nice feeling,” office administrator Chris Lambert said.
Company directors Geoff and Craig Lambert were on hand to accept the award when their name was read out.
However, when talking to the Nota it was clear who Geoff Lambert believed made the property a success.
“We want to acknowledge the team of tradespeople and their input,” he said.
“We try to employ as many local people and use local trades as much as possible.”
Bradley Morante was the site foreman on the project.
“He play’s a major part in the way things are done on sites,” Mrs Lambert said.
The award came about through a conversation with the architect and owners who both believed the house should be entered.
“They were ecstatic that it had taken out the award,” Mrs Lambert said.
The house shows off yesteryear skills which were combined with modern building practices to complete the project.
It is set in Pindimar and the materials made sure the dwelling complimented the site and retained a traditional beach side village feel while still being modern.
The design offers solar efficiency and was constructed with as little environment impact as possible.
The house was judged against approximately 80 other entries from the Newcastle, Central Coast and Hunter Regions after representatives from the Master Builders Association viewed the house in June.
