THE Myall River Festival and Walk on the Wild Side have attracted $1000 sponsorship each from MidCoast Water's annual community allocation.
A total of $23,600 has been allocated to community, youth and welfare organisations under MidCoast Water's sponsorship policy.
The Myall Waterways Chamber of Commerce and Tourism was successful in obtaining grants for both its major events, the festival and annual day at Hawks Nest.
Other local events and projects to gain the support of MidCoast Water include the Stroud International Brick Throwing Competition ($500), Bulahdelah Show Society ($300) and Stroud Road Community Hall and Progress Association ($200). MidCoast Water has also allocated $500 to Great Lakes Council for the endangered Hawks Nest and Tea Gardens koala education program.
Regional events to gain the support of MidCoast Water include a $3500 major sponsorship of the Taree and District Eisteddfod, $700 for Sinfonia Mid North Coast, and $500 for Godfest.
A total of 36 groups across the Manning and Great Lakes have benefited from the utility's community sponsorship program.
Through the funding MidCoast Water aims to support non-profit community organisations in staging events and projects which are of benefit to the general public.
