ON Sunday protestors across the nation will be gathering to voice their opposition to the rapid expansion of the coal seam gas industry and Bulahdelah is involved.
October 16 marks the beginning of National Water Week and has been chosen by the Lock The Gate Alliance as a national day of action.
There are large rallies scheduled for Sydney, Newcastle, Brisbane and many other centres around the country.
At Bulahdelah, the United Myall Residents Against Gas Extraction (UMRAGE) will be hosting a coal seam gas awareness day in conjunction with the Bulahdelah Chamber of Commerce.
It is to be held from 10am until 1pm on Sunday in Wade Park.
The event will host live music, a sausage sizzle and information stalls from UMRAGE and Mid Coast Water.
"We want people to come out and enjoy the day," event organiser David Saul said.
"But we also want them to take a moment to think about protecting our most precious resource.
"We are a country rich in natural resources.
"That won't count for anything if we don't have clean, safe drinking water."
