Dr Robert Martin Anderson was also on the list of recipients who received an OAM during the Queens Birthday Honours.
Dr Anderson is the father of Tea Gardens Public School principal Sue Estens.
He was awarded with an OAM for his service to medicine as a general practitioner and to the community of the Narrabri district where he resides.
Dr Anderson had a holiday house in Winda Woppa for just over 20 years and is known by many residents around the town.
