Primary students get a look at high school

28 Aug, 2008 08:54 AM
TEA Gardens Public School students were joined by students from Bulahdelah Central School last week so they could see what the high school offers.

In a day filled with activities from music and band to sport and history the Tea Gardens students got a feel for some of the classes they would undertake at high school.

“A lot of ex Tea Gardens students are here today, they all wanted to come back,” Bulahdelah Central School teacher Vanessa Shultz said.

Around 100 students from Bulahdelah joined with 240 Tea Gardens student during the day.

Around half of the groups were run by students in years eight to 12, while others were run by specialised teachers from the high school.

A one hour concert during lunch got the students dancing and gave Bulahdelah students a chance to showcase their own High School Musical to be performed in September.

With a cast of students from kindergarten to year 11 the High School Musical will be performed for the public on September 8 and 9.
