AFTER being washed out during July, the Crawford River Classic will now be held on August 18 and 19.
Over 80 riders from all over NSW will compete in the event which showcases vintage motor bikes from before 1978.
The Crawford River Classic is the biggest annual get together in NSW for vintage motocross enthusiasts and has been marked on the calendar as a legendary day.
"The event is a chance to bring together like minded vintage dirt and motor cross riders," Heaven VMX club president, Glenn Pickering said.
Riders will have the chance to ride in either grass or track races and are placed in groups according to the era from which their motorcycles were made.
Many of the competitors will be riding the same bikes they rode when they were teenagers.
"Many of them are re-living their teenage years," Glenn said.
The once familiar sounds of Bultacos, Maicos, Can-Ams, Montesas and the early motocross offerings from Japan will be showcased at the event. Saturday will start with a full round of pre 1965, 1970, 1975 and pre 1978 class era racing on the grass track.
Races from the evolution and pre-1985 entrants will follow.
Live entertainment on Saturday night will have everyone ready for Sunday morning when the bikes will be taken to the motocross track for another round of era class racing.
Sunday will be completed with the perpetual trophy races for each class and a prize giving ceremony.
