With the final regatta of the season looming Tea Gardens locals Taylor Curtis and Brin Anseline-McCaskie can say they have had a great first season.
Taylor and Brin started rowing in September 2007 and have both reached finals in separate events.
The girls’ row with Hunter Valley Grammar School and a huge commitment is required on their part.
Taylor and Brin train two to three mornings a week, leaving Tea Gardens at 5am to reach the Hunter River by 6am.
This is in addition to the fitness training they have to do two afternoons per week.
In February the girls attended the Independent Schools Rowing Regatta on Lake Burley Griffen in Canberra.
Brin reached the A finals in the double scull and Taylor reached the B finals in the double scull.
The girls are currently training for the final regatta of the season at Taree on March 15 and 16.
The girls will be competing in single, double and quad sculls.
