Tea Gardens Building Supplies has been named the Thrifty-Link Hardware Store of the Year.
Tea Gardens Hardware was named the best store in the state for the second time, having previously won the award in 2003.
Owner and manager David Bright travelled to the Gold Coast to receive the award, which recognises quality of staff, friendliness, product range, housekeeping and community involvement.
There are 98 Thrifty-Link stores across NSW and David said winning recognition as the state's top store was a huge achievement.
"Very much so," he said.
"We put a lot of work in last year to present a modern store with a traditional look and feel and we think we've achieve that."
David has owned the Tea Gardens store for the better part of 30 years and his dedicated crew of five offer great service and hardware apparel.
From July 1 the store will also stock a range of new technology items including electronic gift cards, mobile and internet recharges, fishing licenses and music downloads.
David said valued customers had also contributed to the store's continued success.
"We'd like to thank all our valued customers and friends," he said.
"Without you we wouldn't be able to achieve this award."
