Talk turns to water

08 May, 2007 08:55 AM
MidCoast Water councillors and staff had the chance to meet with Tea Gardens and Hawks Nest locals at the April meeting of council.

Councillors took the opportunity to tour several MidCoast Water sites in the area prior to the meeting, including the new reservoir, the borefields and the new vacuum pumping station.

Councillors also had the chance to visit the Hawks Nest Sewerage Treatment Plant and see improvements made to waste water treatment process.

Prior to the regular meeting, residents had the chance to ask councillors and staff about projects and services in the area, including MidCoast Water's talks with the Hawks Nest Golf Club regarding the use of treated water on the course.

MidCoast Water has entered into talks with the club, which will result in treated water being used on the course and a reduction in the amount of water the club has to extract from groundwater.
