Teenager injured in wakeboarding accident

A LOCAL teen was injured recently in a wakeboarding accident at South Pindimar.

On Wednesday, January 3 at approximately 6pm, a 17-year-old male fell from a rubber doughnut that was being towed behind a boat.

Police and ambulance officers attended the scene at Cambage St and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter was called after the male complained to ambulance officers of neck pain and tingles to his hand.

He was transported by helicopter to John Hunter Hospital with neck injuries and suspected spinal injuries.
