Telecommunication tower worries residents

27 Nov, 2008 10:19 AM
RESIDENTS surrounding the reserve near Myall Park have received notification of a proposed telecommunications facility to be placed near the MidCoast Water tank in Hawks Nest.

Some residents are worried about the close proximity of the tower to the sports field, caravan park and preschool.

“Commonsense would be to locate this facility away from recreational users and residents,” resident Stuart Daniel said.

A development application (DA) was submitted for the facility to be placed near the sewerage plant.

This was knocked back after some residents voiced their concerns.

The DA for the facility can be viewed at Tea Gardens district office.

“Only a handful of residents were sent a letter regarding this DA and I feel it is important for others to have their say as well,” resident Stuart Daniel said.
