Unique chance for local businesses

07 Jun, 2007 07:58 AM
A unique opportunity for business people will be held at the Tea Gardens Hotel on July 16 and 17.

A Coaching Café, which will be hosted by the Tea Gardens Chamber of Commerce along with the Tea Gardens CTC, looks at how business people can work on their business, rather than in it.

Two half-day workshops will be held as part of the Coaching Café, which will involve a number of interactive sessions conducted by three experienced business coaches and consultants.

The sessions will run from 2pm to 5pm on Monday, July 16 and 8.30am to 11.30am on Tuesday, July 17.

Sessions will focus on issues such as your business, its purpose and what you want from it, where your business is heading in the future, working together as a business community and networking.

The cost of such a workshop is normally around the $700 mark, but the café will be run free of charge for all interested parties.

Trevor Cook, who is helping to organise the Coaching Café, said such an opportunity did not present itself frequently.

"This is a first for Tea Gardens," he said.

"It's of great benefit to business people as it's run by people who have had a lot of experience in a lot of different areas."

The Chamber has welcomed any business in the Tea Gardens Hawks Nest area to attend the Coaching Café and has also extended invitations to businesses in Bulahdelah and Karuah.

"Anybody and everybody is welcome to come along," Mr Cook said.

"There will be a slight restriction on numbers, however, with a maximum of 50 people for the workshops so it's first in, best dressed."

In conjunction with the Coaching Café a Business Expo will also be run on the evening of Monday, July 16.

The Expo will run from 5.30pm to 7.30pm and once again all local business people are invited to attend.

"We're trying to invite as many organisations with services that support other businesses as possible," Mr Cook said.

"Businesses and the general public are invited to come along, even those who may be thinking about opening a business in the future are welcome to attend."
