Vets on par with fundraiser

26 Feb, 2009 09:06 AM
THE MYALL Coast veterans are doing their bit along with the rest of our community, donating $4,200 from their presentation dinner to the Victorian Bushfire Appeal.

The group collected $3,200 from members on the night and an additional $600 was added to the kitty after two golf bags were auctioned off.

Competitor Mick O’Keiff was presented with a $500 cheque from Woodlands after landing a hole in one.

Mr O’Keif donated his prize money back into the club’s fundraiser. The donation will go to a Victorian golf club affected by the fires. The club will be chosen by the Victorian Golf Association.

The vets challenge other golf clubs along the Mid North Coast to match or beat their offer.
