THE Great Lakes dipped into its pockets to raise around $25,500 for the Salvation Army last month during the organisation's annual Red Shield Appeal.
"We went very well indeed," The Salvation Army's Major Eddie Phillips confirmed recently.
"We had a great response from the local school students this year, and we had a lot more adult volunteers on hand to supervise."
More than $5.8 million was raised across Australia for the Red Shield Appeal during the doorknock.
Tea Gardens Lions Club, on behalf of the Salvation Army, wishes to thank the community for their generous support of the Red Shield Appeal held on May 23 to 30.

There were 22 collectors in total, eight of which were not affiliated with the Lions Club.
These were Paul Hennelly, Alison Beath, Colleen Smith, Rebecca Smith, Matthew Smith, Bob Russell, Trina Huthnance, John Cahill and Gail Reid.
