What’s not there is the real highlight: Turner

FUNDS have been allocated for the Myall Lakes in the recent State Budget, with a further $108 million spent on the Pacific Highway upgrade.

The money will be divided with $80 million allocated for Karuah to Bulahdelah and $25 million for the Bulahdelah bypass.

A further $3 million has been given for planning on the section between Failford and Tritton Rd.

But while funding amounts for these projects have been made clear Nationals Member for Myall Lakes John Turner said the real highlight of the Budget is what is not in it.

“The Labor Government has hidden millions of dollars that are allocated to the Myall Lakes Electorate.” Mr Turner said.

By listing capital expenditure payouts as various instead of where the work will be undertaken the money has been hidden.

“I will now start the process of questioning each minister to determine just how much will be allocated and for what projects in the electorate,” Mr Turner said.
