WORK on the Tea Gardens Returned Services and Citizens Country Club (RS and CCC) is moving steadily towards completion.
The project will expand the club's current outdoor facilities considerably and also features an annex, kitchen and office for the Bowl's Club.
Once completed the area will be completely accessible for wheelchairs and feature a fully landscaped area for patrons of the club to enjoy.
Secretary manager of the club Noel Jackson said the $600,000 project would give the RS and CCC yet another drawing card.
"Originally it was just the back section that we were going to extend but we got a little carried away," he said.
"But it really is going to be great."
The outdoors section will be completely tiled and fully furnished, with all wooden tables and chairs locally made.
The bowls office, kitchen and annex have undergone complete redevelopment and will eventually operate as a fully functional and modern bowls facility.
Layered sails will cover the entire area to offer protection from the elements, while retaining the outdoors feel.
"The end result will be terrific," Mr Jackson said.
"You can bring your beer straight from the bar to the outside and really enjoy the place."
Once all the work is completed the area will be re-landscaped and a railing around the entire work will provide a necessary safety element.
The extensions are the third such renovations to take place at the club.
In 1997 and again in 2002 the club underwent a number of changes and Mr Jackson hasn't discounted more alterations in the future.
"I won't rule it out but this is as far as it can extend at this stage of the game," he said.
Work on the project is expected to be wrapped up in late June.
