WORLD folk music duo Nice Verdes is heading to Tea Gardens to perform at a house concert hosted by Tea Gardens resident Stephanie Perrott.
The duo, Sally Miller and Jesse Hamilton from Canada and South Australia first met in 2003 and the last few years have played at a number of festivals including the Illawarra Folk Festival in NSW and the Discovery Coast Festival and Arts Wells Arts Festival in Canada.
Their music reflects Cuban, Central American and African influences through guitar, piano accordian, African percussion, Cuban tres, harmonica and vocals.
They have been aired on Triple J Roots n All and other radio stations both in Canada and Australia.
Ms Perrott said she hosts house concerts in her home at 75 Admiralty Avenue to give musicians an alternative to the pub scene.
"House concerts are a special way of promoting Australian musicians in an intimate, comfortable, relaxing environment," Ms Perrott said.
Entry to this concert, set to be held on Sunday, February 5 at 2pm is by a $10 donation with all donated money given to the musicians.
Ms Perrott said she does not make any money through the concerts but enjoys hosting them as a way to help to promote the musicians.
"Everyone is most welcome at this concert," Ms Perrott said.
"Please invite all your friends."
