A grade bowls over the competition

23 Jan, 2008 08:19 AM
Another strong win to the A graders.

They knocked over SMR at Tea Gardens by bowling them out for 99 and passing their score fairly easily.

Mark Johnson collected 3/20 with Josh Simms and Ramsin Shalalo both taking 2/16.

With a couple of players out in the next few weeks, our team might have a tough run home before the finals.

The B grade wasted a good opportunity to hold Caledonian to a moderate score at Karuah with some appalling fielding.

The number of catches dropped gave us little chance of being competitive.

Adam McLean continued with his good bowling form of recent weeks by taking 3/14 and Frank Bills chipped in with 2/17.

The Caledonian total of 180 proved too big a hurdle, although Jimmy Drinkwater batted solidly for 34 in a rather solitary stand.

With a big game against Hinton next weekend, I hope to have a better result from our second side in the next report.

Unfortunately the D graders were washed out.
