Croquet gets cracking

14 Apr, 2010 10:40 AM
ON Monday March 29, 12 players enjoyed the croquet courts, playing the usual three games of croquet with our lively morning tea break in between the second and third games.

The new handicap system was applied by one team in the second game, consisting of four players and game resulted in a tie.

Ken Stallard,Tony Jones, Greg Everingham and Joyce Orvis used their experience, strategy and skill, as they were evenly matched and resulted in a thoroughly satisfying game.

Sue Dodds, Bev Latona, Michelle Weir and Norma Glynn also played well.

On Saturday April 10, 17 players graced the courts with Dawn Dale, Sue Dodds, Jenny Holligan, Natalie Rowney and Geoff Moran all playing very well.

Only two games were played as players had other activities on Saturday afternoon.

Please be advised of the next quarterly croquet meeting on Monday May 10, in the gazebo at 9am. A full house is expected as this is giving members several weeks notice.

Please note both days commence at 8.45am for a 9am start.

If any members need a name badge or t-shirt, contact our treasurer, Natalie Rowney, 4997 2258.

Please consider a game of croquet on a Monday, or Saturday as it is a challenging but competitive game given that some thought and strategy I is involved.

Contact our secretary, Liz Burgess, 4997 0461.

Look forward to seeing you .

Happy croqueting
