BARRY Mc Lean was the winner of the raffle (a bottle of wine donated by Norma Glenn) and Liv Everingham was winner of the fruit basket on Friday May 14.
The occasion was the annual Probus Croquet day, hosted by the croquet club, with the members providing many fun-loving games of croquet.
A delicious lunch of home-made, creative and unusual salads was served and prepared by our members along with barbecued rissoles and sausages, lovingly prepared by our president, Jerry Guinness.
Outstanding players included Peter Newell, Dennis Cooper, Billie Baillie and Harry Kennedy.
We welcomed back Ralph and Yvonne Warham, who previously were croquet players.
There will be a morning tea raising funds for cancer on Monday May 31 at 10am at the croquet courts. Ask a friend who may enjoy a game of croquet or just a cup of tea.
A plate of cake or slice would be appreciated and a gold coin donation.
Please note both days commence at 8.45am for a 9am start.
A reminder that our treasurer Natalie Rowney ( 4997 2258) asks members to contact her if they need a name badge or a tee shirt.
Please consider a game of croquet on a Monday or Saturday as it is a challenging but competitive game, given that some thought and strategy is involved.
Contact secretary, Liz Burgess on 4997 0461.
Look forward to seeing you.
Happy croqueting,
JoyO
