Bulahdelah Twilight Competition

WOODEN Spoon: Dad’s Army verse the Misfits.

After playing short for most of the competition, the prospect of a win for the Army brought a few of the missing out for a run.

The Misfits however couldn’t match it with the stars of yesteryear, with two of their players injured, they went down 7 – 1.

Rob Grace scored for the Misfits, but special mention must go to Fiona and Karen for playing through the pain and extra kudos to Tania Griffis for the best game she palyed all eyar.

For the army goals went to Russell, a double to Snuffy Smith and four to the youngster Steve Mason.

The Meat Heads took out Tea Gardens beating them 6 – 0.

Mark Chalker scored his first goal, returning to play after a long absence due to injury.

Pat, Dave and Max joined him the score sheet, with Josh taking a double.

The Bullrouts will come up against the Meat Heads in the C Division grand final after beating Country Energy, 3 – 2, after going into extra time.

In Division B Red Rockets won against Sexual Chocolate, 8 – 2.

Goals went to Jo King 1, Fittock 2, and Simon Spooner 5, while Ben Bastin and Dale Sumner scored for the Chocs.

Salinga took out the Titans after going into extra time, securing a spot in the grand final against the Rockets.

In Division A minor premiers, The Boys took on Down to Earth Paving Pythons, winning 4 – 2 in a high quality match.

Scoring goals from the Boys was Jye and Clover with a double going to Browny.

While Jake and Trent scored for the Pythons.

The Barcas won against the previously undefeated Marauders 3 – 0.

With solid defence from Barcas, two goals went to Dylan and one for Smally.

This has set-up a dream match up for the grand final, between the four-time champions and the new hot-shots, in what should be a fitting end to the closest comp on record.

Next week grand finals:

6pm field one – Division C Meat Heads verse Bullrouts

6pm field two – Divison B Red Rockets verse Salinga

7pm field one – Division A The Boys verse Busted Barcas

Presentation night will be held Thursday March 4 at the Bulahdelah Bowling Club from 6pm.

A barbecue will be on out the back before moving into the auditiorium for the presentations.

There will be photos from during the year, a run down on each teams most valued player, top goal scorers, the iron men and women that played the most matches, grand final medallions and MVP’s, the golden boot trophy and season MVP.

Come along and enjoy the closing of what has been a lot of fun for all.

In other news Under 13 and 14 boys and under 15 girls training has started Thursday at 4pm.

Division one senior men are training Tuesdays at 6pm.

In upcoming matches, Bulahdelah Bullets will verse Cardiff Heights FC Saturday February 27 at Jack Ireland Sporting Complex, with reserve grade kicking off at 1pm followed by first grade at 3pm.

The Gorilla Cup Tournament will be held Sunday February 28 at Tom Barney Oval, Mannering Park.

Please come and support the Bullets as they represent our town and Mid North Coast football.
