WITH the 2008 finals fast approaching the Bullets girls travelled to Old Bar, the stomping ground of the Old Bar Devils, desperately seeking a win to help get their season back on track.
Flying high on top of the competition table for the first half of the draw, the bullets recently slipped to third position after losing their previous three matches.
Whilst experiencing a massive player drought due to injury and illness, the girls finished their previous match with just nine players standing at the full time whistle.
Despite the odds the girls were very unlucky not too have taken home a result.
Looking down the barrel at the prospect of slipping out of the top four, and with players returning from injury, the bullets were keen to get the ball rolling.
With a re-shuffle of players a new look bullets took to the field, along with Jessica Shultz in the goals for the first time.
From the kick off the bullets dominated their opposition, making their intentions clear by opening the scoring early and going to the break 2-0 up.
On a high the bullets weren’t about to drop their guard in the second 40 as they continued to dictate play, running in a further three unanswered goals, making it a 5-0 result on the night.
Goal scorers: Sara Longworth 2; Kelly Plowman 2; Courtney Cowan 1.
Mention must go to the Old Bar girls who never gave up and made the bullets work for everything during the full 80 minutes.
The bullets next travel to Wingham to take on the Lansdowne Lionesses in a top of the table clash on Wednesday, before travelling to South St, Tuncurry to tackle the Tinonee Falcons on Friday night.
