Team spirit alive in junior soccer

13 May, 2008 02:43 PM
THERE was a fantastic turnout for both training and games this week at soccer so thank you to all parents for the effort.

We have brought forward the cut off date for registrations with the final date to register now Wednesday, May 28.

If you know of anyone who is intending to join please get them to contact Anne on 4997 9023 for forms.

Thank you also to all of the people who have volunteered in the canteen so far.

Please remember that this week’s rostered helpers are the Werewolves.

The canteen always needs helpers; even just half an hour behind the counter or helping at the barbecue would be great and would give regulars the chance to catch some of their own child’s game.

Everyone should have received a copy of the additional rules for this season in regards to parents and players conduct.

Please take the chance to read these and help make Saturdays a fun day for everyone involved.

If you haven’t received a copy of this or the draw, please collect one from the canteen as soon as possible.

Coaches are still needed for various teams. The kids really do need someone to look to throughout the match and to bind and guide the team.

If you know of anyone who could help please get them to call Tony on 4997 2135 or alternatively just turn up at training on Wednesday 4pm or on Saturday at 8.45am.

All players should give themselves a pat on the back, there is some great soccer being played so keep training and keep having fun.

Results: Minis: Alligators 1 verses Monsters 0; Bears 2 verse Beasts 0.

Midis: Werewolves 6 verses Griffins 0; Dragons 5 verses Warriors 4.

Juniors: Combined Minotaurs and Cyclops 2 verses combined Yetis and Ogres 2

Players of the Match were: Christopher Woodfield (Monsters); Paris Battle (Alligators); Ryan O’Niell (Bears); Kye Cotterill (Beasts); Hayden Cook (Griffins); James Bowden (Werewolves); Matthew Williams (Dragons); George Eddy (Warriors); Brin Anseline McCaskie (Minatours); Josh Barnett (Cyclops); Alex St Pier (Yettis) and Cordel Murphey (Ogres).
