Bulahdelah girls selected To play premier soccer

14 Dec, 2011 12:00 AM
YEAR 10 students from Bulahdelah Central School, Jess Shultz and Katrina Mason have been selected to play in the Mid North Coast Newcastle Premier Women's League soccer team.

"All the Port Maquarie girls are really good so I didn't expect to get in," Mason said.

There are 16 members in the team and Mason and Shultz are the first girls from Bulahdelah to be chosen to play in this elite competition.

"From this team you can then go on to play for the Jets or the Matildas," Mason said.

The girls train every Tuesday and Thursday night in Taree or Port Macquarie.

This is the second year the squad has been playing under the auspices of the Newcastle Jets.

Mason said she would like to make soccer her career one day.
