Juniors come through with a decisive win

14 Jul, 2010 05:05 PM
THE Myall River Junior 14s season continues to be disrupted, with yet another washed out round on the weekend. As a result of the rescheduled matches, Myall River will miss out on another home game.

After a strong win against Cessnock in round eight, Myall River travelled to Morpeth to play the Bulls. In cold blustery conditions, they were unable to continue their good form.

Length of the field tries to Jaxon,Harris, Nic Reynolds, and Kai McNally, kept the boys in the game until the last minutes, when the Bulls scored two late tries.

Best for Myall River were Jaxon Harris, and Carl Williams. Soloman Keys, and Ray Finch defended strongly.

A catch up game the next day saw a decisive win against the Valentine Devils 48 – 8, putting Myall River in semi-final contention.

For Myall River, Jaxon Harris scored three tries and Gage Mcnally two. Nic Reynolds, Kai McNally, and Zac Lowe scored one each. Sol Keys kicked eight goals from nine attempts.

The best and fairest awards: three points to Ray Finch, two points to Jaxon Harris and one point to Cohen Morante. The Coach’s three points went to, Zac Lowe, two points to Cohen Morante, and one point to Luke Fenner.

Next week, Myall River will travel to West Maitland to play the Red Dogs. The game will kick off at 3pm at Coronation Oval. The following week the club will play at Myall Park against Dungog.
