LAST Saturday the young Sharkies measured up against known opposition.
The opposition on this occasion was Thornton. Batting first and totalling a good score was the object, however the required good start was not forthcoming with the loss of three early wickets, Mitch Pinch and Aiden Bills lead the recovery with a 39 run partnership, Pinch with a hard hitting 30 including 5 boundaries, Bills 31 runs remaining until the score was 83 and effectly laying the foundations of a competitive score. Late support came from Brent Johnson with a handy 14, the final tally, a competitive 95.
In the field the Sharkies were much tidier restricting the Thornton batters, with only two managing double figures.
The bowling honours went to Jack Bills with two for six and he also completed a catch to round out is day. Ben Jacobson, Elijah Gimbert, Aiden Bills and Hayden Cook were also wicket takers in restricting the Thornton team to 79 runs a good away win to the Sharkies by 16 runs and reversing the first round result which went to Thornton by 11 runs.
