THERE is not just safety in numbers but a third placing to be had. Myall Masters Swimming Club with a strong team of 12 members, its largest to date, recently attended the Raymond Terrace Swimming Carnival and secured third in the overall pointscore.
Competing against 23 clubs from across New South Wales, Myall Masters showed the depth of its ability.
For members Tracey Pereira and Allan Wilson this was their first swim in a still water Masters event. Tracey chose the 50 metre breastroke for her first event. Tracey's first few strokes were well executed and she continued the event with excellent form and discipline. Tracey improved her nominated time by four seconds which over a 50 metre event is a considerable achievement.
In the 50 metre freestyle, Wilson quickly found that extra adrenalin rush to post his personal best with an improvement of 15 seconds.
Club coaches are looking forward to Wilson reaching his full potential, watch out Michael Klim.
This was the first time since the Club's inception that a women's team entered the 4 x 50 metre relay event.
