JUST four ends of the Major Singles Championship were played on Friday, August 4, between defending champion Helen Doorey and Maynie Roberts, before rain caused a postponement.
Thursday, August 10 saw the completion of the match, a hard fought final with an excellent display of bowling, the weather again being unkind.
Congratulations to the winner Maynie Roberts, our new Club Champion for 2006.
Four games of the first round of Club Pairs Championships were also played on August 10, with M Sargeant and B Rhodes d G Pezet and V Rankin, O McKeown and P Stephens d L Baker and B Fakes, F Giggins and P Janes d J Yeates and A Tyne, and L Kelly and S Whapplington d M Oldfield and V Gray. Congratulations winners.
Social bowls winners were B Stephens, R Dickson, P Skewes and L Green.
