The pair had won through after defeating Bev Rhodes and Anne Mackenzie (respectively) in the semi final the previous day. Both matches were played in great spirit.

Social winners for the day were Vicki Rankin, Liz Kelly and Merle Sargeant with the runners-up being Penny Janes, Gay Pezet and Wendy Jones.

On July 17, Penny Janes, Anne Mackenzie, Helen Doorey and Liz Kelly traveled to Mayfield West Women's Bowling Club to play in the Dulcie Stone Shield and after two games of 15 ends found themselves in the final.

The result was not decided until Helen's last bowl of the day which was enough to down Raymond Terrace. A tremendous result as Tea Gardens had never won the shield before.

The monthly meeting will be held on Thursday, August 10 after bowls instead of Tuesday, August 8.
