CONGRATULATIONS to our grade 5 pennants side. After defeating Cardiff in the quarter final, then Swansea Workers in the semi final, they now go into the final against Newbold Diggers on Saturday, May 27. Venue unknown at the time of writing - go the Dolphins.
It was fantastic to see the number of people that turned up to support and encourage the players in their quest for a flag. This support was truly appreciated by the players, they all agreed that it helped to lift their game.
We were all saddened by the passing of Frank Fitzmaurice, a long time and popular member of our bowling club. Our condolences to his wife Monica, and their family.
The Major Singles are well underway and are now down to the last eight following the games played on Sunday, May 21. The final eight are as follows: T Parkinson, P Rollason, D Martin, E Purkiss, P Hatton, J Baker, A Greenhalgh and R Foster.
The Men's Club put on a Mothers Day game of mixed triples and lunch for the ladies on May 19, with the winners being B Brakel, P Stephens and R Foster. Runners up - S Cheetham, K Barbie and J Rollason.
