Two flags for ladies bowling club

07 May, 2007 07:37 AM
At the Newcastle District Pennant play-offs, Tea Gardens RS&CCC Women's Bowling Club was the most successful club.

Grade 3(1) won the Pennant with the 3(2) side coming third.

The Grade 4 side won their Pennant and the Grade 5 side were runners-up.

Congratulations to all members and thanks to the supporters who cheered us on to our victories.

The week's wet weather played havoc with matches and games had to be abandoned on the Monday afternoon and Tuesday.

Those games were postponed until Thursday. On Friday we travelled to Newcastle to collect the flags at a presentation lunch which finalised an exciting week of bowls.

Commencing on Monday, May 7, the club will again be travelling, this time competing in the Zone play-offs where members hope to continue on their winning way.

Due to the wet weather there were no social bowls played at the club this week.

Best wishes to members celebrating birthdays in May.

Happy birthday Esther Clack, Noela Bentley, Heather McDonald, Avona Middleton, Rita Dunbar, Aileen Balk, Audrey Tyne and Lyn Humphries.
